As a Hong Kong Pal, you have the opportunity to be a gracious host to visitors from around the world and offer them your personal recommendations for exploring Hong Kong. By showing tourists the warm hospitality of Hong Kong, you not only contribute to their memorable travel experience but also have the chance to engage with fascinating individuals from diverse countries. Additionally, you will have the privilege to join the star-rated training, enriching your own life in the process. Entering the 15th edition, the HKTB “Hong Kong Pals” Volunteer Programme will be more fun and exciting! The Programme will run from November 2024 to October 2025. Service Locations & Hours: ‘Hong Kong Pals’ will provide service at the HKTB Visitor Centres located at the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Concourse, Hong Kong International Airport, the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, Ocean Terminal, West Kowloon Station and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. They will also assist in the HKTB mega events to handle visitors’ enquiries as well as offering the latest sightseeing recommendations. Each ‘Hong Kong Pal’ will need to work for no less than 10 sessions (30 hours) during the appointment period. Each duty session lasts for 3 hours, usually between 9am and 6pm from Monday to Sunday. The exact duty hours will be confirmed each month according to the roster.

Remarks

Interested individuals are requested to register with the Social Career. You will receive an email from us. Complete the application form from the email and submit it to the HKTB no later than May 31st. The Tourism Development Board will conduct a preliminary selection based on the information submitted by the participants. Shortlisted candidates will need to undergo a Hong Kong tourism knowledge test and a first-round selection interview arranged by the Tourism Development Board in June. Candidates who pass the first interview will attend the final interview conducted by a selection panel formed by the HKTB. Shortlisted candidates will be selected as ‘Hong Kong Pals’ after the completion of training programmes organised by the HKTB. • ‘Hong Kong Pals' are required to complete a minimum of 10 sessions (30 hours) of service annually. • From August to October 2024, the recruited volunteers will undergo a comprehensive training programme organised by the HKTB, which covers various tourism-related areas. (No service hours will be counted during the training period) • Service hours will be recorded in Social Career quarterly for selected ' Hong Kong Pals'
